For carers who primarily move people

In-House Induction (half day to 1½ days, depending on the techniques the staff need to learn)
Refresher Training (3 hours to 1 Day)
For up to 10 staff members per session

This basic training is delivered in-house at your convenience and includes:

• An initial assessment of the manual handling equipment, policies and procedures within your organisation so that the training can be tailored to your individual needs.
• Advice on equipment and any handling issues raised would be given at this stage.
• Post–training support will include a written report, detailing any handling issues raised during the training.

Participants will:

• Receive enjoyable and empowering tuition with a lively and entertaining format.
• Receive comprehensive handouts to include: information on relevant legislation; how to maintain musculo-skeletal health; principles of safer handling; information on controversial techniques and details of normal movement patterns.
• Be taught a selection of safer manual handling techniques and use of equipment available in their workplace depending on the needs.
• Practise techniques in a supportive and positive atmosphere.
• Receive certificates of attendance and detailed training records.
